People Await the Opening of Ballroom #1

This is a View of About 2/3 of Ballroom #1

“Don’t Tread on Me”
The launch yesterday of Glenn Beck’s “We Surround Them” project was a HUGE success. Glenn’s program was inspiring, especially if you were among the thousands that gathered for one of the many live viewing events across the country. I was at the Cincinnati event, and was very impressed by the program that Glenn put together, the great job done by local organizers (ordinary people), and by the size of the crowd and enthusiasm of the people that attended.
The Cincinnati “We Surround Them” (WST) event drew a crowd of well over 1,000 people. The event was held at a Crown Plaza Hotel, and was originally scheduled to take place in a large ballroom with seating for about 500. Long before the doors opened at 4 pm it was obvious that another ballroom would have to be pressed into service. The organizers had wisely put that room on hold in case it was needed. Before the show began both halls were filled with standing room audiences, and the lounge and large lobby area were also filled. I have not heard the official estimate, but the total attendance was well over 1,000.
As expected, the local news media ignored the event, even after prodding from event organizers and many calls by others in the week prior. Tomorrow there is going to be a Tea Party Event on Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati with over 6,000 confirmed and an expected turnout of over 7,500. I will be there!

As I have mentioned numerous times in previous posts, we need to become activists in order to counter attempts to move our country to the extreme left. In the next four years we will encounter many battles to protect the freedoms and beliefs that have made America such a great nation. We can no longer just sit back and expect that ‘everything will be OK.’ Those of us that have been active before must become more diligent, those that have been in the background must step forward. Our power is in numbers, and many more must wake up and accept their responsibility.

Look around at what we see on television, in commercials, movies, the Hollywood elite, the internet, the mainstream media, and from our ‘leaders’ in Washington. It is easy to feel that we are surrounded by a declining culture and government, and there is no escape. Glenn Beck has envisioned and organized a national movement he calls “We Surround Them.” The idea is to bring together people of similar values and beliefs to demonstrate the fact that each of us is actually surrounded by people of like values. The declining culture does not surround us, but ‘We Surround Them.’
This and other movements such as the ‘National Tea Party’ movement are emerging and catching fire all across the country. They are being organized and promoted by ordinary citizens that are beginning to realize what liberal interest groups have known for two generations. A large number of ordinary citizens joining together to express a common concern will have a noticeable impact on the media, politicians, and the general public perception. Attendance at these early events are important to the continued growth and influence of the new ‘Conservative Activism.’ Attend one of these early events and learn the pride and satisfaction of exercising your right and responsibility to have your voice heard in our Representative Republic. Your children will thank you!
Tomorrow is the first national ‘We Surround Them’ event. Individual simultaneous events are planned all across the country. Remember that power is in numbers and your attendance at these events is important. Please use the links below to learn more about these efforts and to find an event near you.

The E-Verify amendment did not make it to the Senate floor yesterday, and the authorization and funding has expired.
However, the Appropriations Bill was not passed and the debate will continue on Monday. This means that the amendment #604 by Jeff Sessions (R-AL) can still be brought to the floor if the Democrats allow. We must continue to contact our Senators to push for reauthorization of E-Verify.
Regarding my calls to Ohio Senators George Voinovich and Sherrod Brown:
Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) – I called his Washington number, 1-202-224-2315, and after a couple rings it forwarded to a recorded response stating that the Senator was receiving a large volume of calls and if I wanted to comment I should go to his website. There was no other option, and the call was disconnected. I DID leave a pleasant message on his website.

Urgent! E-Verify will expire today if the Senate does not take action.
E-Verify is a tool that allows businesses to quickly check the citizen and immigration status of potential workers. Harry Reid and other Democrats have been blocking this bill from reaching the floor. There is no legitimate reason to let E-Verify die. Without this system there is no practical way for employers to check employee status.
The Democrats do not want us to know who the illegal aliens are. Especially in these economic times, we do not want to make it easier for illegal aliens to take jobs away from American citizens.

Why a New American Tea Party Movement?
Nearly 47% of popular votes in 2008 went to McCain / Palin.
Even with record voter turnout,
Obama only received the endorsement of
about 32% of voting age Americans.
Barack Obama did NOT receive a mandate to “remake” America!
We must protect the Constitution and the America that the Founders envisioned.
Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and Barack Obama do not possess the intelligence, judgment, or integrity of our Founding Fathers.
Too many Americans have sacrificed too much over the last 235 years for our generation to hand this country over to those that want to “remake” America!
We need to unite and become activists to save America as we know it.

The Tea Party movement began with a February 19th ‘rant’ by CNBC’s Rick Santelli on the Stock Market floor. His remark urging modern tea parties has caught fire across America.

Please support and participate in any Tea Parties in your local area. If there are none scheduled, take the lead and organize one. There have already been several successful demonstrations in Chicago, Washington, St. Louis, Philadelphia, and other cities.
How to Organize a Local Tea Party
There is a Tea Party planned for Sunday, March 15th at 3:00 pm on Cincinnati’s Fountain Square.
The day and time were chosen so that working Americans could attend, and would not interfere with the opportunity to attend their preferred church service.

Looking forward to participating and seeing everyone on the 15th!
This has to be just the beginning. We must continue to work to protect our heritage and preserve a promising future for our children.

Regarding the story: Three RINOs Move Left to Support the Stimulus
I want to thank everyone that has stepped up and contacted these three RINOs, as well as their own senators. I hope you are also relaying this message to all of your personal contacts, and telling everyone you know that they must let their voices be heard on this critical issue. We must try to turn these three senators. I know it appears that I have become stuck on one issue here, but how we react to this situation will greatly affect the direction of our Country going forward.
The Democrats are desperate to have this bill labeled as bipartisan because it will not work and they know it. They realize that it is much more special interest and pork than stimulus. They need to be able to call it bipartisan. The Democrats realize that the bill they crafted is destined to pass, with or without Republican support. When this bill eventually passes we will be forced to ’share the wealth,’ but we should not volunteer to ‘Share the Blame.’

Saturday, February 7, 2009
Last night three ‘Republican’ senators broke with their colleagues to support the ’stimulus’ bill. They say they can now support the bill since it was trimmed from somewhere over $900 billion to around $800 billion.
Thanks for easing our pain!
What happened to that ban on torture?
It is very important that everyone contact these senators. This is now being touted as a ‘bipartisan’ bill, with a ‘consensus’ of the senators in support. Three ‘left of RINO’ senators does not equal bipartisan!

The current ‘Stimulus’ Bill of $850 Billion dollars that was passed by the House and is now before the Senate will cost each taxpayer an average of $6,296 according to the most current tax statistics available.
However, if you have worked hard enough to earn over $100,000 per year your portion of that bill will be closer to $16,000. And if you happen to earn in excess of $200,000 your ‘fair share’ of this Stimulus ‘Bill’ will likely be over $50,000. The tax data used here are taken from US Census records, and can be found at the following link:
U.S Census Tax Return Statistics
Your portion of this debt cited above is in addition to the similar debt from the prior stimulus bill. One problem that no one dares to mention is that much of this huge stimulus package involves the creation of new government programs and expansion of others. The Federal Government is great at creating new programs, but finds it very difficult to cut programs. These programs and increased cost will continue long after the economy rebounds. The debt will continue to grow.
This bill is not about economic stimulus. It is about expanding government, special interests, and to pay back political favors. The root of this economic collapse was government meddling in the banking industry, mandating or encouraging unsustainable changes to lending rules to satisfy a political constituency. Now many of those same politicians that helped create the problem are ramming through the same types of ’solutions’ that got us here in the first place. There is much more ‘Bill’ here than there is Stimulus.
Here is a link where you can find the full text of the ‘Stimulus’ Bill as it was sent to the Senate.

When you get to the page check out the links on the left column. The ‘Senate Version’ link will give you the full text of the current bill. Click on the Spreadsheet link to get a quick glimpse of the amount of your money we are talking about, and how much will be spent on special interest projects. This bill is not about economic stimulus.
