The recent confirmation of Timothy Geithner as Secretary of the Treasury enraged many honest taxpaying citizens across the country.   When I checked to see how my Ohio senators voted on this appointment I was disappointed, but not surprised, by what I found.   Democrat Senator Sherrod Brown took the lead from former Senator Obama’s playbook, and did not vote on the controversial appointment.   RINO Republican Senator George Voinovich voted to confirm the admitted tax cheat, Timothy Geithner.

Hoping to understand my representative’s logic, I immediately sent the following email message to Senator Voinovich.

Senator Voinovich,

I was very disappointed to learn that you voted to confirm Timothy Geithner for Secretary of the Treasury.   His backers assert that he is the only man in America that can get us through this economic ‘crisis’.    That is an absurd contention, especially when you consider the fact that he can not even manage his own tax issues.

There are only three possible reasons for his tax payment problems:

1. He is not the brilliant economist and manager that his backers contend.   His tax avoidance has been attributed to an oversight or blamed on someone else.   That is not a valid excuse.   ‘The Buck Stops with Him’.   If he can not manage his own finances, how can he manage the entire country’s economy?   An oversight there could have dire effects on us all.

2. He intentionally evaded paying his taxes and is therefore a crook.

3. The tax system of the United States is just too complicated and burdensome.

I am sure you would not vote to confirm if you thought he was incompetent,
nor would you have voted for him if you thought he was a crook.
Therefore, I assume that you agree the tax system is too complicated and burdensome.

If that is the case I will fully support your efforts to reform the tax system and implement a ‘fair tax’ or ‘flat tax’ system.
If that is not the case, please explain your reasons for voting to confirm Mr. Geithner.

Thank you,
Tim

I am still awaiting his reply………..
